Making Memories Of Us

Wow!  I cannot believe that 4 years have come and gone like a blink of an eye.  I can still remember our wedding day like it was yesterday.  I am not trying to sound all gushy when I say this but it truly was one of the best days ever.  Not only did I get to marry a wonderful man but we were able to be surrounded by so many people that we love and cherish.  Our friends and family made that day absolutely wonderful.
So much “life” has happened in the last 4 years.  We bought a house and a car.  We have celebrated the marriages of many of our friends.  We have made new friends in Oxford.  We have said goodbye to a great love of our life and look forward to welcoming a new addition to our life very soon.  Some days have been hard but the happiest far outweighs the sadness.  And even in the saddest of sad times there was always a light because God placed Jason in my life.
I am really a very blessed and very spoiled wife.  Be jealous everybody, since I’ve been married I’ve never done a load of laundry. (My mom would say that I’ve never done laundry at all, which is a true statement) But outside of that Jason is a wonderful, caring provider.  I never have to worry that a bill isn’t going to get paid or a task not taken care of by him.  He is one of the kindest, most loyal people a person could ever meet.  I am extremely blessed that he is my husband.
In memory of one of the best days ever here are some photos:

And the best picture of the day for last:

Did you know Jason could move like that? :)

"Whooah We're Halfway There, Livin' On A Prayer"

This week we have reached the halfway mark with Lane Henry!!!  WooHoo!!  Jason and I went to Memphis this Monday to check in with the High-Risk Specialist.  This appointment was more for us to have peace of mind than it was that there was a worry anything was wrong with Lane Henry.  The appointment went AMAZING!  It was absolutely what I had been praying for it to be.  The ultrasound lasted around 45 minutes and they looked at every inch of Lane Henry’s body.  From head to toe he seems perfect!  I know I drove the ultrasound tech crazy with questions,  but I had a mental checklist that I had to see with my own eyes.  She was perfect and patient with us and awesome at her job.  Lane Henry has hit a growth spurt in the last few weeks.  He has been measuring right on target with my due date, which is November 1.  But at the appointment he has grown to where he is actually a little over a week ahead.  A little overachiever :).  He weighs around 13 ounces right now and about the length of a banana.  At the beginning of the appointment he would cooperate and let us look at everything but towards the end I guess he had had enough and was just flipping and moving all around (I think this is a Jason characteristic).  After the ultrasound we had a meeting with the doctor and it was very short because there really wasn’t that much to report.  Lane Henry looks perfect!  But hearing those words from him meant the world to Jason and me.  It was like we could take a few breaths.  We know this journey is far from over but it is beginning to be a little bit more real to us.

Jason and I give all the glory to God.  Without His constant presence and power we know none of this would be possible.  Thankfully we have a God where we can live without fear.  Thank you to everybody that has prayed.  The prayers have really guided us through the last 20 weeks and given us a peace we know did not come from us alone.  Please continue to pray for the next 20 weeks.  Lane Henry is one blessed little boy already to be loved by so many people.
Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me.  He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.  Psalm 103:2-3

T 'n' T Wedding Event

A few weekends ago one of my dearest friends, Taylor got married!  The wedding was SO much fun.  The whole wedding just screamed Taylor and Tyler and that made it so much more special.  Taylor and Tyler are one of those couples that instead of saying one or the other is lucky to have the other they are just perfect for each other.
I loved all the personal touches that they put into the wedding. It was also the perfect Ole Miss alum reception which included Ole Miss sunshades, Ole Miss pom poms, Ole Miss groom’s cake, and a Colonel Reb ice sculpture.  It was fun to be around some college friends I haven’t seen in awhile and just catch up. The reception was hosted by a DJ and he had a knack for knowing exactly what song to play for the crowd.  Lane Henry got an early introduction to rap classics like Gator Boots, Back that Up, Wobble, Cupid Shuffle and Cha Cha Slide.  It felt good just to dance and be silly and pretend we were all back the the Library.  Jason’s comment that I “wasn’t the worst” out there.  Guess I’ll take it!  I do love a good rap song! :)
I cannot say enough good things about Taylor and Tyler.  They are very special to me and will be lifelong friends.  I have shared many tough times with Taylor and she has always known the exact thing I needed to hear.  She is a very very special person.  I just hope I can be as good of a friend to her as she is to me.
Here are so pictures from the weekend:

The Has Gotta Be The Good Life

Since Jason and I traveled to Florida for the wedding we decided to take advantage of our location and stay and few days on the beach and then go to Jason’s favorite place, Disney World.
Sarasota has beautiful beaches and we really enjoyed staying on Long Boat Key.  The water was clear and blue and the beaches very sunny!  I even ended up getting in the water some (very uncharacteristic of me, I don’t enjoy sea creatures).  We lounged by the beach a few days and ended up not leaving our hotel for anything but wedding festivities.

The day after the wedding we got up early and headed to DISNEY WORLD!!  Jason is such a kid and enjoys everything about the parks!  We ended up spending all of Sunday at the Magic Kingdom and then Monday we went back to the Magic Kingdom and ended the day at Hollywood Studios.  I think we have just about seen and done every ride and show at these 2 parks.  Jason is already planning our next trip!

You Make Beautiful Things Out Of Us

The exciting news of the month is WE ARE EXPECTING!!!  Baby McCormick will be here on or around November 1, 2012.  We are so excited about the new addition and are taking it one day at a time.  Not only can we announce that Baby Mac is on the way we can announce that Baby Mac is a baby BOY Mac! We found out yesterday that he is indeed all boy there is no question!  His name is Lane Henry and we are thrilled! It has been a long journey for Jason and me to get to this point and we still are a little anxious.  We just cannot wait to hold Lane Henry for the first time (and we may never let him go :))!

We are so thankful for all the prayers that have already been prayed for this precious little boy and we ask you to continue to pray.
Our God is good, All the time!
The lyrics of Gungor’s song Beautiful Things really sum up this journey.
“All this pain
I wonder if I’ll ever find my way
I wonder if my life could really change at all
All this earth
Could all that is lost ever be found
Could a garden come up from this ground at all

You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us

All around
Hope is springing up from this old ground
Out of chaos life is being found in You”

A Very Berg Wedding

We had the privilege to attend the beautiful wedding of Lisa and Michael a few weekends ago.  The wedding was in Sarasota, FL and it was absolutely gorgeous.  It was great to see all of our college friends and to meet new friends.  The entire weekend was a lot of fun.  One of mine and Jason’s greatest treasures are our friendships.  We truly cherish everyone of them and love the opportunities to get to spend time with everybody since we are all located everywhere now!
Here are some pictures from the weekend:

This Is The Day The Lord Has Made

A few weekends ago my cousin, Wesley got married in Nashville, TN.  My mom, grandparents, and I were able to make the trip to be apart of the wonderful day.  The setting even tho a little on the chilly side was gorgeous!  The wedding and reception took place at the Belle Meade plantation.  It was a wonderful night spent with wonderful family!
