Happy Easter 2013

Easter weekend was a very busy weekend around the McCormick house this year.  Our good friend, Austin's wedding was the Saturday before, so Jason and I were busy with all the fun festivities.  The wedding was beautiful and Austin and Lauren are such a cute couple.  Jason and I enjoyed seeing college friends we haven't seen in a few years.

Also my mom and I were able to squeeze in a visit with her first cousin, Jamie, who was down from Virginia.  Visits with Jamie are always so fun and we also got the treat of eating at Boure.

On Easter Sunday we went to church with my parents at the 8:00 am service and FBC music didn't fail to impress.  After church we went to breakfast at the BBB (we went on a tour of John Currence restaurants this weekend).  The food was excellent!  That afternoon was spent resting and then we loaded up and ate another wonderful meal at Jason's parents house.

The Easter bunny spoiled Lane Henry, of course.  But next year we will have to have a talk about the Easter bunny not coming to see little boys that wake up and want to play from 2:00 am - 4:00 am.

Make me fly, Dad or I'm going to scream

This little boy didn't want his picture taken because he was tired after playing in the early morning hours.

Thank you, Easter Bunny!

"Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him."

Notable Things:
After his last doctor's appointment, LH was cleared to start solid foods.  Rice cereal was first and he didn't really care for it.  Next came green beans and they were not much better.  Since then he has tried sweet potatoes, squash, peas, and carrots.  After the first couple of weeks he started liking all things a little more.

How Wonderful Life Is While You're In The World

My dad got my mom Elton John tickets for Valentine's Day and was sweet enough to get me one too.  The concert was fabulous!  I enjoyed the entire night with my parents.  Elton John is such a music icon and I was thrilled I got to see him live.  He played a large variety of songs and he didn't leave any of his hits out.  His show wasn't really flashy it was basically him at the piano with his band behind him, which was absolutely perfect.  His music doesn't need any help to be great.

And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world

Your Song, Elton John
